Build A Rock Hard Chest With Pushups

You no longer need to go to the gym to get that rock hard body, you need to look no farther then using our own bodyweight as resistance.

Building a rock hard chest is easier than you think and you don't or never did have to spend an hour in the gym; all you need is one simple exercise, the exercise is the pushup.

Despite what most people think- the pushup will not only build a big hard chest but will also strengthen the whole body and this means you will get better results in a shorter period of time.

If you didn't know just the act of holding the pushup position works the chest and the entire body and you don't even have to move, that's how great the pushup is.

If you are training hard in the gym and are not getting the results try the simple pushup for a little change and get the rewards of a hard fit body.

There are more different kinds of pushups then there is bench presses so this means you can work more muscles in a short period of time and the results will be great- and you will never look at the pushup the same way.

The pushup is not going anywhere anytime, an exercise that has been around as long as the pushup it means it works and always has worked that's why we still do it yet most prefer the bench press.

Show me someone who does alot of different pushups and I will show you someone with a strong core; find me someone who benches 300 to 400lbs and I will show you someone with a weak core.

A pushup that has been used for years and has been done by almost all fitness icons is the Atlas pushup and this is a great exercise for building strength and endurance.

What if you were to do the Atlas pushup a little different; Charles Atlas shows himself doing pushups using 2 chairs with his feet on the ground if you do enough of these you know they will build a nice chest.

This is a great exercise but to make this exercise even greater try it with your hands on chairs and your feet on a swiss ball now you will get a strength building workout as well as an unbelievable core workout.

Want to make it even harder put your hands on 2 basketballs and put your feet on a swiss ball and do pushups; if you are weak in any area these types of exercises will show you.

Try different types of pushups and build a big heaving chest using your own bodyweight as your tool.

How to Get in Shape - 4 Crucial Keys

Probably nowhere is there more dubious information than in the fitness industry. Not coincidentally, it's doubtful there's an area of life mired in more confusion with conflicting information than the simple context of getting in shape'. One person tells you to eradicate all carbohydrates and spend your free time doing "cardio" (once called aerobics). Another tells you to put on mounds of muscle so you can someday burn hundreds of calories while sitting in front of the boob-tube clicking the remote. Still others get more esoteric by convincing you to "eat for your blood type", or "exercise your core". It seems that most experts in this field are more concerned with coming up with new gimmicks for outdoing each other than helping YOU get in shape.

But really, getting the body into better shape is fundamentally simple. We are considered to "be in good shape" when our body fat is low and our lean body tissue is relatively high. In other words when our muscle to fat ratio is favorable, we are typically stronger, healthier, and of better appearance. Pretty simple huh?

So where does the confusion set in? It starts in that typically ambiguous area where we need to reconcile fantasy with reality.

Yes you do need to build muscle in order to maintain youth and burn calories more efficiently. But tossing some weights around a few days a week on some generic, regimented schedule will more likely waste your time than produce muscle.

Yes you do need to improve eating habits. But neglecting to shift better eating practices into intuitive and subconscious desires through self-image enhancement will likely lead to unnecessary struggle and backsliding.

Yes you should add some aerobic activity to your schedule so you burn more unwanted fat. But doing this haphazardly or overdoing it can cause inefficient wastes of time and counterproductive wastes of solid body mass.

And yes you should start an effective workout regimen as soon as possible. However, you should probably procrastinate just long enough to make sure you're mentally prepared to begin. False starts, followed by recidivism, can contribute to long-term self-doubt. That won't help.

So let's go over four crucial keys that I think you need to have covered in order to improve the shape of your body and get fit as quickly and efficiently as possible:

1. Make Sure You're Mentally Ready.

What do I mean by being "mentally ready"? I mean that you know deeply in your mind that you've hit the point of resolve. Let me clarify this by illustrating the opposite of resolve.

A former coworker of mine spent most of his time being out of shape with a 40-inch waistline (I've been there too). When he finally told himself he'd had enough, he decided he wanted to add the occasional meal replacement shakes he'd seen me drinking to his daily menu. He handed me forty bucks and asked me to pick up a box for him the next time I was getting some for myself. Well, I did that. But when he asked me again several weeks later (after I'd gone through three boxes in the interim), it was clear to me that he hadn't resolved to get in shape. He was just sticking his toe in and testing the water.

Unsurprisingly, he appeared to be getting in worse shape during the time he'd professed to be getting in shape. I'm not claiming this was due to an unwillingness to drink meal replacement shakes. Rather, the reluctance to pick up his own products was symptomatic of a lack of resolve the results of which probably rearing their ugly head by way of other steps he wasn't taking.

Without resolve, we don't achieve anything significant.

2. Build Muscle with an Easily Measurable Feedback System.

That former coworker I mentioned (I know I'm picking on him) was allowing himself to become deficient of muscle tissue while only in his mid-forties. This was undoubtedly making his fat loss a bigger uphill battle with each intermittent attempt he made at getting in shape. He'd been a non-muscular youth and now the unencumbered process of age-related muscle degradation was creating an ever-worsening ratio between his adipose tissue and muscle.

To turn this around, he needed an efficient and highly effective muscle building routine. Basically, he needed a routine that would be simple to use and that would provide easily measurable feedback to see whether progress is being made. That's what's needed for ongoing motivation.

If you want to really improve your body, don't get in the habit of thinking any activity you do in the gym is conducive to reaching your goals. Like success at anything, you must have a simple method of planning and measuring your progress. Otherwise, you might as well spend that time you used at the gym to do something else.

3. Burn Body Fat with Low Intensity, Short Duration Cardio Exercise.

When I went through Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL Training in the Navy, we did high intensity aerobic exercise and calisthenics all day. Guess what we didn't really look all that great.

My former coworker used umpteen mile walks each day to try to lose fat. When he handed me the greenbacks for his second box of meal replacements, it was apparent that all the time spent walking wasn't doing much except burning off what little muscle he had along with miniscule amounts of fat. Sure, walking is low intensity. But he was doing too much while slowing his metabolism with infrequent meals consisting of assumed-to-be-healthy foods such as salad.

To really improve your body, you need to burn fat while building some muscle. Then you need to retain the muscle you've gained not lose it. This creates efficient fitness gains. Keep your cardio work at low intensity for thirty to forty minute sessions.

4. Condition Better Eating Habits in to Your Self-Image.

Those who go on diets will go on and off diets indefinitely. Those who take on the eating habits of a high performance person and then adopt that self-image will not struggle to stay lean.

I used to crave junk food. Now I crave foods that make my body feel good, energetic and high performance. This is a matter of subconscious changes. That's beyond the scope of this article, but I think you get the idea.

There you have it; four basic principles (or keys) you need to get in shape. Sure, you can fall for the latest fitness fads if you choose. But when you want lasting results, it always comes back to simplicity and diligent execution. You CAN have a better body.

How To Get Rid of a Beer Belly

If you want to know how to get rid of your beer belly, you've stumbled upon the right article. Here I shall write the necessary steps to start losing your excess belly fat and having a flat stomach. But just so you'll know, it may take some time for you to complete this process, but if you take the steps I write of here, you will see constant and improving results.

Step #1 - Remove the cause

Before starting to reverse the process which brought about your beer belly, you need to erase the thing which caused it. By this I mean that you have to stop feeding it so that the only place it will have to go is down. If you think I mean that you need to go on a fad diet, or anything, then you've got me all wrong. What I do want you to do is make some simple adjustments to your diet:

  1. Cut down on alcohol - They don't call it a beer belly for nothing. Alcohol is filled with sugar and empty calories. Cut down on alcohol and you will have a much easier time to get rid of your beer belly.
  2. Cut down fried, fast food, and processed food - If you eat fresh food, a lot of vegetables, fruit, lean meat, and complex carbs like brown rice and whole flour pasta, your body will have much easier time to use the calories you're feeding it instead of turning them into ugly abdominal fat.
  3. Eat more meals but make them smaller - Most people eat large meals making it impossible for their body to cope with all the food they eat. The only thing left is to turn much of their food to fat. If you break your meals into 4-6 smaller portions throughout the day, your body will have a much easier time of it.

Step #2 - Reverse the Process

The second step in your process to lose your beer belly is to get a little more active. Even a small amount of exercise can do wonders. You wouldn't believe the results you may have. Start walking in the evenings, play a sport (even golf or bowling is better than sitting at home), or join a gym. Whatever suits you. You need to do some exercise in order to accelerate the fat burning process. Don't think that sit-ups will do anything to your stomach fat, because they won't. The key to getting rid of it is to lower overall body fat. The best way to do this is through complete strength and cardiovascular workouts. But again, start slow and gradually build up your activity levels.

The best thing to do in order to get rid of your beer belly is to become better educated at fitness and diet issues. Once you know the right things to do, it'll be much easier for you to succeed.

Fast Weight Loss More Assured

With affluence, people are becoming obese easily. With obesity, you bear the risk of heart problems, diabetes and other unwelcomed ailments.

Some tried quick fixes such as liposuction. Others succumb to weight loss pills and weight loss supplements. These methods are unnatural and may pose later health risks than helping you in the long-term. The author recommends something proven and natural that can assure you that your weight loss is going to happen.

Before touching on this subject of weight loss diet program, the author likes to share three important premises that must be explored to be assured of a success.

EXERCISE

This is a basic age-old prevention of any potential diseases. You may choose to do Chinese tai-chi, jogging, swimming, swift walking, golfing, cycling whatever. This will most definitely help in your weight loss as well as having a healthy mind and body.

POSITIVE THINKING

Do not underestimate your subconscious thoughts. You need to build this positive thoughts that you are going to succeed with any weight loss program that you have chosen. Half the battle is already won if you decide that you are going to shed away those pounds. It is pointless to start on any best weight loss program and say "I try ....., If I don't succeed, I try another one". On the contrary, for a successful achiever it is "I found and decided that this is best fast weight loss program and I must lose x number of pounds by y number of days".

MOTIVATION

Some people are motivated to work because of the money. Others work to occupy time. The same goes for any weight loss regime you have chosen. You need the inner motivation factor on the why you want to lose weight. Is it for your boyfriend, your girlfriend, your husband, your wife? This will help you to remain focus on your goal, your desire to achieve what you want to get eventually.

Next is to choose the assured weight loss solution.

Is it easier to starve yourself and not eat those foods you love to eat OR eat the foods you love but in a pre-determined timing? Of course the latter prescription is more workable for anyone. Explore this in http://www.fatlossfast.org for more information.

How to Get Weight Loss Momentum

By nature I'm a pretty lazy person. By that I simply mean that most of my life I pretty much tend to do as little as possible in order to achieve my desired outcome. And don't worry you don't need to do anything close to this kind of regiment. And as far as the running... Well, I save that for a future article. Here is what you need to know if you ever want to make MAJOR progress effortlessly:

MOMENTUM.

Get it. Do whatever you have to; just find a way to get it. Here's what I want you to know: when you eat junk food, you want more. I'm killed my momentum many uh times by cheating. And in retrospect I can clearly see that it isn't necessarily what you eat that is most damaging. It's the loss of momentum. Now some people just have absolutely no desire for junk food. They say it tastes bad and they would never put in their body...I kind of think of them as "health food evangelists"

Now there's nothing wrong with this. In fact, it's probably a good thing. Good for them. :o) But I've gotta tell you: this certainly isn't me. Now don't get me wrong I genuinely do enjoy the taste of LOTS of natural healthy food. But I also enjoy many foods. And I've found a way to eat a good amount of junk food and stay very lean and energetic. Of course I feed my body premium quality fuel most of the time but I think you know what I mean.

HERE'S THE POINT: You can create momentum in either direction. And crazy as it may sound, you can actually train yourself to want to exercise. You can train yourself to enjoy it. You can train yourself to be addicted to it. Now, please understand this only happens if you exercise correctly. If you go through the motions like 93.7% of people you'll stay stagnant. Let me ask you: What kind of momentum do you have in your life right now? In what direction is it going? Now is a good time to really evaluate what kind of shape you are in... Spring is just beginning and summer will be here before you know it.

The condition of your body will DIRECTLY effect the level to which you are able to enJOY these "warm weather seasons." I could go on and on, but I think you get the point. Here's what you should do immediately: Go look in the mirror. *Take yourself out of your body* and just look at yourself.

Objectively.

Now this isn't a time to beat yourself up or anything like that... Just stand there for a good 2-3 minutes and really evaluate your activity over the past month. *Think.* Really think. What have you been doing? Visualize the exercises you have been doing. See yourself eating the foods you have been eating. What do you see? Reality check: If you continue this behavior, how is your body going to look and feel in in the coming months? If you're making progress then congratulations!

(I know many of you are)

KEEP DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING. But here's what I want you to be aware of. I notice that many people have their "little routine" They eat the same thing (that they think is healthy) and they make little change to their exercise regiment (which they think is effective) Do you see what I'm getting at? Bottom line: Step out of your comfort zone and you'll be surprised with the irony of your actions. It becomes easier not harder.

Yo-Yo Dieting - Are You in Need of a Weight Loss Change?

It's the stereotypical phrase that describes millions of Americans today. The Yo-Yo Dieter is the dieter that starts and stops every diet under the sun in hopes of one day finding the "perfect" diet to shed all their weight away. Many people unfortunately don't realize the impact yo-yo dieting has on your body and how important it is to find a solid and sound weight loss plan to get you to a healthier weight.

The key to finding the one plan that will work for you is a little bit of research and determination once you find one that's working. The research phase includes finding a reputable diet to follow that has proven results that you are sure you can make work for you. This should include knowing about all the possible side effects you may possibly come into contact with when starting a new plan. For instance, when low carb dieters start the Atkins diet, many find it extremely difficult to adjust for the first week or so, then realize it becomes much easier. Another aspect you must think about is how you will maintain the weigh loss after it's been melted away. Can you follow a low carbohydrate diet the rest of your life without going insane? I'm sure not everyone can answer that question favorably. This is why it's very important to start and follow a plan you know you can make into a lifestyle.

The other aspect is the determination factor it takes to stick to a weight loss plan when it shows no signs of working. When your dialed in and doing everything right, yet no weight is dropping or it's not dropping as fast as it should, many people quit. This is a key period in which determination must prevail to keep going towards the final goal. Everyones body is different and will experience changes in it's own time. You must stay determined to succeed in weight loss, as without this important attribute you will find yourself a chronic yo-yo dieter for life. Good luck!

Want a Challenge? The 300 Movie Workout

Today I did the 300 movie workout. You might have heard of the 300 workout from the 300 movie promotions. The actors trained hardcore, using kettlebells, weights, bodyweight, tires, and more.

The 300 workout is a challenging 300 repetition workout put together by a trainer for the lead actor in the 300 movie. This isn't how they did their workouts...it was just a test of his strength-endurance.

Here's the workout...all exercises are done without rest. Just go, go, go.

Pullups - 25
Deadlifts with 135lbs - 50
Pushups - 50
24-inch Box jumps - 50
Floor wipers - 50
1-arm 36lbs Kettlebell Clean n Press - 50 reps
Pullups - 25

One actor, Andrew Pleavin, completed the workout in 18:11.

Remember, he didn't practice this workout...and neither did I.

My time: 19:07

My butt was kicked by a hollywood actor. It was a brutal workout, starting out strong and slowing down, finishing at a crawl. And I don't plan on doing that any time soon, or really, ever again.

Obviously this is an advanced workout...you shouldn't do it unless you are as fit as a college athlete.

Fortunately, this can easily be changed. Appropriate exercises should be subbed in, and you should drop down to 100 total reps - or as .: recommends - 4-6 exercises of 15-25 reps each.

For example, you might do a 150-repetition workout - this is great for a man with moderate fitness:

15 bodyweight rows
25 bodyweight squats
15 pushups
50 jumping jacks
20 mountain climbers
10 close grip pushups
15 bodyweight rows

An intermediate woman could do a 100 rep workout:

5 bodyweight rows
15 bodyweight squats
5 pushups
50 jumping jacks
10 mountain climbers
10 lunges
5 bodyweight rows

Those are some challenging workouts. Work with a trainer to come up with other ideas. And always, train safe.

Weight Loss With Weight Watchers

Weight Watchers believes that dieting is just part of long-term weight management. A healthy life style will result in a healthy body. Weight watchers has achieved lasting success with their weight loss program, and the program now has more flexibility than in past years. We are going to look at a few reasons their program works.

Part of their secret to success is the community involvement. The community in this case is a group of like minded people meeting on a regular bases to share their weight loss wins and failures. It is that feeling your not in this alone or I see what you did and I think I can do the same thing. Their pep rallies ( meeting) are encouraging and motivational.

The weight Watchers point system is probably he best known of their programs. A large number of foods have been evaluated and given a point value. If one stays within there daily point recommendation the chances are good that weight loss will result. Although they have booklets giving the point values of various food, this formula will be of help when the book is not available. Points= calories/50 +fat grams/12 - fiber grams/5'

So how many points are recommended? Weight Watchers provides these guidelines:

Less than 150 pounds = 18-25 Points

150 to 174 pounds = 20-27 Points

175 to 199 pounds = 22-29 Points

200 to 224 pounds = 24-31 Points

225 to 250 pounds = 26-33 Points

Over 250 pounds = 28-35 Points

Plus there some flex points involved. Flex points allow a person to pig out on a special occasion and and not feel that they have abandoned their comment.

Another program is the Core Plan. Basically this plan gives a wide scope on the variety of food recommended and relies on the discipline of the individual to limit the quantity. Most beginning dieters find that the community aspect, discipline and motivation supplied with the Points Plan is an excellent way to begin. When weight loss happens and they feel comfortable with the system, then the Core Plan may be advisable.

Their website (http://www.weightwatchers.com) contains a lot of helpful information. Your favorite recipe can be found changed to abide by the Weight Watchers guidelines. For people to busy to take time for a meeting or if a meeting is not available in you local they also have an online application of their plan.

Although Weight Watchers may not be for everybody the program can be very beneficial as it address the mental, emotional and physical health aspects of dieting. Weight loss is each individuals responsibility. See you at the meeting.

Herbalife Weight Loss Program

In the United States of America, it has been revealed that 65% of the adult population is grossly overweight and the figures have been ever increasing. Obesity is a necessary evil and society has already fallen victim to its malicious grip and in such cases, the primary aim of the overweight individuals should be to lose weight. There are several different kinds of weight loss products available in the market though not all of them are very effective and some of them are even very harmful for consumption. This is especially true of the various weight loss pills which are frequently consumed by the obese people to ensure frequent weight loss. But instead of reducing the fat content from the body, they reduce water levels and thus weight gain is immediate after the pill is discontinued. It is often believed that natural resources are more effective as weight loss supplements like green tea and therefore they are used more prevalently for weight loss. Herbalife weight loss program includes the consumption of herbal pills and nutritionally rich balanced diets to aid weight loss. However, before indulging into a discussion regarding the effectiveness of herbalife products, it is necessary to have an understanding of hemorrhoids.

It has been estimated that in America itself, about 75% of the population is affected by this bowel disease which effects bowel movement due to the accumulation of excess fat in the body. These hemorrhoids affect the rectum area in the form of inflated veins which in their turn affect bowel movement. These hemorrhoids have been linked to be a cause of obesity. Under such circumstances it has been revealed that herbalife nutritious foods and herbal tablets are immensely effective in providing relief to the patients. Unlike the plethora of ineffective weight loss programs, herbalife has been studied and considered to be extremely effective and safe for usage. This is because contrary to the fad diets, it is made up of healthy food products which provide optimum nutrition and therefore does not affect health adversely and cause weight loss at the same time. Herbalife products are successful in increasing the grades of stamina and energy and while it is true that they control the desire for food by means of suppressing hunger, it also aids in reducing cellulite by burning the fat. Herbalife diet program does not impose any form of restriction on the form of food that is to be consumed but they must be low in calorie. Regular exercising isn't mandatory for this program which has made it quite popular.

Dieting, Weight Loss & PSYCHOLOGY - Melissa's BREAKTHROUGH

One March afternoon in the spring of 2004, a client by the name of Melissa moped into my office for her weekly appointment. Melissa initially sought weight loss counseling because she weighed just over three hundred pounds.

"How'd it go this week?" I queried as we sat down for her consultation.
"Terrible." Disappointment, self-disapproval and her profound sense of failure oozed from her being. She gazed at the floor and avoided eye contact.
"Terrible, huh." I repeated. I was thinking that I have heard this hundreds, maybe thousands of times in my almost twenty years in practice helping people lose weight.
"What was so terrible? If I may ask..."
"It was my son's birthday week, and I had a piece of birthday cake. Then we went out for Mexican food, and I had some chips. I completely blew the diet."
"Ok," I responded in a soft tone that lets my clients know I am confident in my ability to help them. "May I ask you a couple of questions?"
"Sure," she muttered looking up only to reach for a tissue.
"In our work together, we've talked less about dieting and more about eating a minimum of five to six times per day. How many times did you eat in an average day this week?"
"Four to five." She dabbed the makeup at the corners of her eyes with the tissue.
"Ok... first... that's up from one to two times per day before you and I started working together.
That alone is definitely movement in the direction you want to go, right?"
"I guess." My acknowledgment clearly did NOT make her feel better.
"So that's about thirty eating events for the week, two were off target. How did the other twenty-eight stack up? Were they on target? Not on target?"
"No, they were pretty much on target."
I paused being sure that we made eye contact to drive the communication home, "Melissa, do you realize what you are telling me? Twenty-eight of your thirty eating events for the week were on target... but you had a terrible week?"
Understanding that the evidence simply weighed too heavily in my favor, she relented. "Yeah, I guess that doesn't make sense, does it?"
"No, it really doesn't. But in your defense, this is the way you have been trained to think by our compadres in the weight loss and diet industry - one 'mistake', and you have failed. You have 'broken' your diet. One 'mistake' completely and totally negates whatever you did that was on target."
I paused for emphasis. "Does it feel better when you realize that you were over ninety percent on target?"
"A LOT better. I didn't realize... I had no idea." she had stopped crying. "I have never thought of it like that." "I know. This is VERY common. This is one of the most important things that I help people with through this weight loss counseling. But that's not all, Melissa," I continued. "Last year and the year before, your son had a birthday week, right?"
"Yeah?" she wondered where I was going.
"Were you on a 'diet'?"
"No."
"What percentage of your diet would you say was on target during those weeks?"
"Oh... maybe ten percent if it was a good week," she countered with a little more spark. She put the tissue down.
"So... not only were you twenty-eight of thirty on target through a relatively difficult week this week. You were over ninety percent on target in contrast with maybe ten percent last year and the year before during the same week!"
She sat up. "Wow," she muttered in an understated tone. It seemed that she was a bit perplexed. "Wow!" Melissa was more animated now. "I guess that's pretty significant, huh?" she said with a calculated certainty. "Then I did good, didn't I," she had seen her accomplishment with clarity for the first time.
"From ten percent on target to ninety percent on target? I'd say so," I confirmed.
Melissa was alert, engaged and excited about her newly revealed accomplishment!

Is the psychological context in which the weight control endeavor is "held" important? It is BEYOND "important" - it is CRITICAL! Which Melissa is more likely to succeed at lifelong weight control? The Melissa disempowered and defeated Melissa who moped into my office or the Melissa who was empowered and accomplished a few minutes later?

That's the way it looks from here at The Castle.

Weight Loss and the Law of Attraction

Depending on the circles that you run in, you may or may not have heard about a very powerful force in your life that is called the Law of Attraction. Its powers are literally limitless and utilizing those powers is absolutely free of charge!

Who doesnt want Unlimited Cosmic Power without even having to bust open their wallet?

I will start with a brief introduction to the Law of Attraction, and then I will get right into how you can use this universal power for something that a lot of people care about losing weight!

In simple terms, the Law of Attraction basically states that like attracts like. Whatever thoughts and feelings that you focus on the most will literally determine your future.

In fact, the Law of Attraction has already been working for you and every other life form in our universe since the beginning of time. However, only recently has education about its incredible power become readily available to the general public.

So how is it that the Law of Attraction can help you to lose weight? Simple you just need to think about it! Sounds easy enough, right?

Well, it actually is just that easy, but an explanation of exactly how you are supposed to think will help you to understand this process better. You can then take that knowledge and use it to help you with your weight loss or fitness goals.

Earlier I said that the Law of Attraction has been working for all life since the beginning of time, which begs the question, Then why havent I lost any weight yet?. In fact, that same question could be asked about pretty much any other goal that anyone has ever had. If all we have to do is think about something in order to bring it into our lives, then why arent we all rich, perfectly healthy, and living happily ever after?

The simple answer is that most people without even knowing it dont really think about what they want. They think about the fact that they DONT have it. Now, if youll go back briefly to the definition of the Law of Attraction like attracts like then you will see that the reason why people dont have the things that they want is because all they ever do is think about NOT having those things.

This same concept applies to weight loss and health just as efficiently as it applies to everything else. A lot of people want to lose weight, but rather than think about how wonderful their life will be once they have lost the weight, they instead think about how miserable they are because they HAVENT lost the weight!

Think about it. If you need to lose weight, which of the following statements describes your thoughts/feelings when you walk in front of a mirror without any clothes on:

a) I am so sexy since I have my weight under control, and I have an unlimited amount of confidence. I can date anyone that I please and my biggest problem is deciding which little tiny piece of clothing to wear to the beach or the swimming pool.

b) I am so FAT! I cant even stand to look at myself in the mirror, so how can I expect anyone else to want to look at me? Ill be lucky if I dont have to take my clothing size up another notch or two at the rate Im going.

Now, be honest. Which one of those statements do you think comes closer to the way that people who need to lose weight think of themselves?

Once again referring back to the Law of Attraction If you think miserable, sad, guilty, or low self-esteem powered thoughts, then the Law of Attraction will dutifully bring you more things to be miserable about. In fact, the more miserable you are about any particular subject say, weight loss the more powerfully you will attract more of the same since that is your primary focus.

So, the answer to utilizing the power of the Law of Attraction for weight loss is to simply stop thinking about your situation in such a negative manner! Start thinking positive thoughts, confident thoughts, and thoughts of happiness, smaller clothing sizes, and showing more skin at the beach.

When you successfully do those things, the Law of Attraction will start to move around the chess pieces that affect your life, and before you know it, you will have whatever it is that you need in order to finally get in shape.

It may come in the form of a free gym membership, a workout partner, a piece of home exercise equipment that you actually want to use, a new motivation to get involved in some sort of physical activity, or any number of other things that will put you on the path to weight loss.

Heres the rub, though You cant sit around and get hung up on the details. Mike Dooley said it best in the movie The Secret The Hows are the domain of the Universe!

You dont need to worry about HOW it is going to happen, you just have to feel the positive, confident emotions that will MAKE it happen. The Universe will then step in and show you the path!

Lose Belly Fat In 2 Weeks

If you really looking to lose a lot of belly fat in 2 weeks, you've come to the right place, and I urge you to read this entire article without skipping a single word.

If you only have 2 weeks to lose belly fat and you want to make to most of your time, you need to act on 2 parallel avenues at the same time.

The first avenue is the nutritional one. You're going to have to eat a healthy diet in order to burn as much belly fat in 2 weeks. The way to do this is to eat only fresh foods which you prepare at home. Don't worry about eating low fat foods. Just make sure they contain only good fat like olive oil, coconut oil, avocados, flax seeds, nuts and almonds. Break down your meals into mini-meals spread out throughout the day to aid the body to handle the calories better.

The second avenue revolves around fitness. This is very important because in order to lose the most belly fat in 2 weeks, you will need to workout often and workout hard. Working out takes 2 forms: weight training and cardiovascular activities. Contrary to popular views, weight training is very important for belly fat loss. The reason is that weight training helps to maintain and build your muscle tissue which increases calorie burning.

As to cardiovascular workout. If you have only 2 weeks to lose belly fat, it's time you lay off the long steady pace cardio and start doing interval, high intensity cardio. If you have only 2 weeks to do this, you need to work your tail off. Long steady pace cardio means that you're not pushing your life to the limit. Do short, 20 minutes interval cardiovascular workouts to burn the most belly fat.

In 2 weeks, you have to make this a mission on your part. If you do, then you will see results.

Natural Weight Loss Program

If you eat correctly and keep moving, you have everything you need to know about how to prevent being overweight using a natural weight loss program; advice like this is for the most part ignored. This is not as simple as it seems though even though the concept is easy to comprehend; a third of overweight Americans and millions globally, would disagree with this advice. Despite this, most of these overweight people want to be trim again although it is probably more for cosmetic reasons than those related to their health.

The truth is it is easier to maintain your weight than it is to lose excess pounds and the heavier you become the harder the weight loss becomes. Even though many people know this subconsciously very few actually plan to ensure that weight gain doesn't happen to them.

Apparently even if you have lost weight with a calorie controlled diet, it doesn't take long if you come off it to revert to your old ways and you can start watching the pounds go back on again. Natural weight loss is possible though and it can be done before you get stared at in the street or cause others problems because of your weight.

The truth is there is a huge price to pay with your health when you are overweight and in particular, clinically obese. The basics of eating correctly whilst maintaining a healthy weight is not all that complicated, in fact most people know pretty well what is best and that is losing weight naturally.

If you are planning to use a natural weight loss approach then its success will depend on the meals you eat which should be low in fat, high in fiber, some protein and carbohydrates. You have probably had a meal like this in a restaurant; a baked or jacket potato with fresh vegetables and some meat, as lean as possible but it wouldn't have gravy or butter on the potato.

The problem is calories from dietary fat can be high and have a tendency to be retained by the body which is something that doesn't happen when excess calories are consumed with other foods. Manufacturers have realized that there is a huge market for low-fat or even fat-free products but the propensity and popularity of these foods are not lowering the average weight of the nation.

Whilst completely false, the perception is that you can basically eat exactly what you want provided it is fat-free but there are still calories in the food which can easily be converted to body fat. Weight control methods ensure you avoid the fat-free products but suggest you eat healthy and nutritious snacks if you are hungry.

Health experts say it would be better to try eating every three to four hours, which may mean a nutritious low-fat snack between lunch and dinner. Natural weight loss is a lifestyle choice not a fad; hence, it takes a great deal of determination, self-control, and discipline to achieve your ideal weight.

Fasting for Quick Weight Loss - What You Need To Know Now

Many people who are absolutely desperate to lose weight have been inquiring about fasting as a viable way of dropping pounds, and doing it quickly. And of course, as you would expect, there are a variety of methods being promoted online for doing just that, so I thought I would chime in with my thoughts on fasting as a practice, and more importantly for you, as a strategy for safe and efficient weight loss.

The first thing you need to know is that prolonged fasting is absolutely NOT a viable plan for losing weight, staying in shape or maintaining an ideal physique. It is however, a viable plan to segue into a new diet, or a good short term strategy for optimizing your body, and your mind. Let's take a closer look.

Fasting, in my parlance is NOT a total abstinence from food. Obviously this would be unhealthy, and could only be done for VERY short periods without supervision. These are often referred to as water fasts, and while you CAN go without food for a few days, (or longer) depriving yourself of water is simply dangerous and could be deadly as well. Fasting for our purposes will refer to juice fasting, or a raw diet, where you ingest nothing but juices in the former, or simply raw juices and veggies in the latter.

Both of these have been shown to have really positive benefits for those who have embarked on this sort of regimen, and adherents claim a refinement in their senses, clarity of thought, physical rejuvenation and even a spiritual rebirth! You will of course, also lose weight...but this is RARELY the reason that people embark on a fast.

Much of the weight lost in this sort of endeavor WILL be regained once you resume eating, and therefore is not really looked upon as a diet strategy. Rather, you many want to incorporate elements of this approach to food as part of a living strategy per se, or part and parcel of a lifestyle that focuses on whole foods, organic eating and short periods of abstinence to cleanse the body.

But for good old fashioned weight loss, even the most devout fasters will tell you to pick a REAL diet first, meet your target goals, and then incorporate some of these holistic lifestyle choices into your choice of cuisine, and your life!

How Can I Lose Weight Fast? Your Prayers Answered

How can I lose weight fast is a question that's asked by many people, day in and day out, all over the world. The world is awash with a million celebrity diets and a new workout craze each week, but are any of them right for you? Check out our article to find the lowdown on how you can really lose weight fast.

Tip 1

Ditch the pasta. How can I lose weight fast? No more pasta is the answer. While it's healthier than other more traditional carb groups (french fries for example), pasta still contains huge amounts of calories. Think about it for a second - the stereotypical long distance runner loads up on things like pasta and potatoes for this reason. Pasta is a pretty great food though, so instead of ditching it altogether why not consider halving your portions and eating some fruit or nuts after your meal?

Tip 2

Sugar free is the way to go. Think about it for a second - how can something as sweet as sugar not be chock full of calories? Losing the sugar is a big answer to the "how can I lose weight fast?" question. If it wasn't bad for you people would be eating sugar sandwiches for lunch each day wouldn't they? If you drink a lot of soft drinks, simply switching to sugar free versions can easily reduce your calorie intake by a few hundred each week.

Tip 3

Drink more water. How can I lose weight fast? Simple - the water aids your body's metabolising process, so you digest food more efficiently. The statistics regarding dehydration are ridiculous-a staggering amount of people live their everyday lives in a state of dehydration, and this means your body is not working as well as it could. Your body needs water for its everyday processes, including burning fat and thinking. If you drink more water, you will retain less, burn fat better, and be able to think clearer. Fact.

Tip 4

Get a pedometer. Attach it to yourself for a week, and work out how many steps you do in an average day. If you are asking yourself how can I lose weight fast, try and add a thousand steps a day. Walk to the park, or the store, or just around the block a few times. Whatever it takes. Walking isn't exactly the most strenuous activity, but I'm betting after a couple of weeks of doing extra steps like this, you'll be seeing exactly how you can lose weight fast.

How To Study Weight Loss

You can do anything that anyone else has done. You can have anything that anyone else has. You can be anything that some else already is.

How? Because they already have accomplished it so you know it can be done. The variable is how hard you are willing to get the same results someone else has.

I am not trying to say be like someone else here. I am saying that if there is something you want to have or be in this lifetime, make a study out of what other successful people have done to get it.

Make a habit out of studying successful people and begin doing what they've done or what they advise. Sure, there are going to be some limitations and some setbacks.

You will probably not be able to play pro baseball or basketball if you are in your 50's.

You may not be able to be president of the United States if you've failed to graduate school.

That does not and should not mean you do not set lofty goals for yourself.

The habit of study comes after accepting responsibility and thinking about what it is you want to achieve with your body and health.

In order to achieve great fitness and weight loss results, you must bridge the gap between where you currently are and where you want to be.

What this means is, you have to find a way to get from where you currently are (or are not) to where you want to go.

It's the same principle as using a roadmap. You use a map to get from Point A to Point B without blindly driving around trying to find your destination.

Learning to bridge the gap from where you are to where you want to go can be done more easily if you model, or copy, after someone that has already achieved some of the same things you want to achieve.

For example, say that your best friend recently lost 20 pounds and looks great. Why not ask them how they did it and then, providing they lost the weight in a reasonable manner, copy what it is they did.

Two things must be figured out when you are trying to bridge the gap between success and failure.

First step in the process is you must ask yourself "Where am I currently at in my fitness endeavors?

Does anything even need to change? Am I overweight? What do I weigh? What is so emotionally painful with being overweight?

What are my alternatives? If I do not do anything right now to change, do I want to spend another week, month, or year like I am right now?

Take a peek into the future? Where do you see yourself in 6 months to a year if you continue heading the in same direction you are heading now. Will your health be negatively affected or just your self-esteem.

What is it I am doing in my workout routine that is not producing results. What is it in my nutrition that is not working? If everything that needed to be done was getting done, I would be seeing better results, so something is not working for me.

After you determine where you currently are, you know must then find out where it is you want to go.

What do I want to weigh? How do I want my clothes to fit? How much energy would I like to have? What size do I want my waist to be?

If I change for the better right now and start implementing a proper fitness program, what will I feel and look like in 6 months or a year. What size will I be or what brand new clothes will I be able to fit in.

What is it I would be ultimately happy with achieving in the realm of fitness and weight loss. In crystal clear terms, what do I want to achieve.

When you find that answer, that is going to be your destination.

To achieve fitness and weight loss success, you must bridge the gap that lies between where you currently are and where it is you want to end up.

When you determine where it is you want to end up, you need to make certain choices and certain decisions about how it is you will get to your destination.

The quickest way to get there is to follow someone else who has already achieved what it is you want, model after someone that has figured out what works and what doesn't.

This could be a friend, family member, or personal trainer.

In this case, it will be learning and copying some of the steps in this book.

There are certain "no matter whats" when it comes to losing weight, gaining muscle or strength, or any other fitness goal you may have.

Much like certain principles or laws, like the law of gravity, these "no-matter-what's" will work 100% of the time, whether you like it or not.

If you do certain things, than you will achieve weight loss, no matter what. Whether you like it or not is irrelevant, they will work.

You can have anything you want in life if you copy others that have achieved what it is you are looking for. If you want to learn about the stock market, read a book by Warren Buffet. If you want to learn a new language, pick up a Spanish book.

I am going to help you with weight loss success. Not because I know everything, but because at some point, I had to make the same choice and I know the end result of that choice. Experience of others can save you a lot of time.

It's not what you know or do that matters, it's what you know and do that produces results. Weight loss is 80% behavior. It comes back to the choices that we make, or do not make. So, in order to lose weight effectively and permanently, you must change your behavior, or those things that cause you to gain weight in the first place.

In fact, often the only thing that distinguishes successful people from unsucessful ones is direction.

You only get what you ask for in life, so ask for more. There are specific reasons behind why you either cannot lose weight or why the weight does not stay off. Until you uncover those reasons, weight loss will be minimal, at best.

It has to do with the choices you make each and every day. If you are stressed out from work, do you chose to workout or run to get rid of tension or do you plop down on the couch and eat an entire bag of Doritos.

The choices you make dictate the life you lead.

I do not like to offer my clients a "Band-Aid" approach to getting in shape. I want results to last. I am one of these people that want to know why both how and why something works. Other people are just happy knowing that it works.

But it only works as well as you want it to work.

So begin studying how others have achieved their goals and you too, can copy their success and achieve what you want to achieve as well.

Bodybuilding Cutting Exercises Are a Fitness Myth

Bodybuilders use high repetition sets to get ripped, but could get more results in less time by doing less work.

High repetition sets do not get you cut.

This is a myth, and there's a much better way to sculpt your body, get ripped, and finally achieve the elusive 6-pack.

But again, let me repeat, you won't succeed with high-repetition sets using light weights. And don't even worry about the "pump", but that's another article for another day. To get ripped, its all about nutrition and intensity. We want to be able to see our well-earned muscles and our 6-pack abs.

And that's why we get lured into the belief of the cutting exercises. Because it causes a burn in our muscles, we generally think, hey, this must be burning fat. But it's not! It's just a fatiguing sensation. If you are using a high-rep, cutting program, I doubt you are getting the results you want. You don't need to be in the gym too long.

There is a better way to burn fat. A faster way. And a smarter way. It doesn't involve "toning" workouts or "Cutting exercises". What you need to do for fat loss, and getting cut, is to focus on the same exercises that helped you build muscle in the first place.

So forget the pec-dec, and stick with dumbbell presses. Say goodbye to leg extensions, and keep using squats and lunges. Next up is the shocker! Use intervals to cut fat fast! Instead, we'll use interval training to burn fat and boost our metabolism in less than half the time as a normal cardio workout. Only 20 minutes of interval training done 3 times per week resulted in weight loss in one Australian study.

On the other hand, three 40-minute cardio sessions did not cause any weight loss in the same study. Shocking results, but it just goes to show you the power of intensity. No more slow boring aerobics. That means saying goodbye to light weights and high reps and long slow cardio. Goodbye, nice to know you! If you want to get ripped muscles, diet hard?

First, you need the proper dietary changes to promote muscle gains and body fat reductions. Nutrition is the most important factor for fat burning and getting cut. If your nutrition sucks, and you eat fast food or skip meals, you are in big trouble. There is no workout good enough to overcome bad nutrition. Next, focus on multi-muscle strength exercises and finish with interval training to burn more calories out of the gym.

No more machines. No more high reps. Use more intensity and put turbulence on your muscles. If you did a squat, a press, and a row in each workout, and then did intervals, you'd get ripped if your nutrition was good. Keep it incredibly simple, but intense.

Forget about slow boring cardio. You need to do short burst exercise instead. Consistency is key for getting cut.

Forget bodybuilding, use Turbulence Training to get ripped. Burn fat with bodyweight exercises.

How To Stop Emotional Eating

For many people overeating is simply a habit and a strong focus and change of behavior will be key to weight loss success in these cases. But to say that people who are overweight just eat too much, is not always true.

Sometimes people eat more, for any number of psychological reasons. In a letter that I recently got from a subscriber there is the following line: "I find myself eating sweets when i get frustrated or sad".

Stress, frustration, sadness and depression are just a few emotional triggers which can make a person want to eat more. Eating is then usually associated with these emotions and for this reason they choose to eat more to comfort themselves.

Certain chemicals in the brain are linked to both mood and hunger.

For example, one of the most likely culprits that lurks behind the act of emotional binges is cortisol -- a stress hormone that tends to make people crave sweet and salty food. So, if you experience more stress than is natural, higher quantities of cortisol is produced, leading you to crave for unhealthy foods, and this in turn leads to other health related problems. It's the domino effect.

In cases like these it is wise to resolve your emotional issues first, even if you need to consult a specialist, rather than trying to attack the eating problem first.

And for your own good, try to cope in healthy ways --

Lose Weight Quickly - Give Me a Break

Weight loss products in general is a huge business on a global basis. Health care and weight loss has now become new entertainment in the form of reality TV.

And there is no time of year like the present where losing weight seems to be on most peoples minds. Celebrations usually involve large bounties of foods and desserts at family reunions. Most healthy conscious people will readily agree that exercise, drinking plenty of water and eating smaller portions will indeed help one lose weight.

In addition, having a diet high in fiber is now being recognized by many medical experts as being very beneficial to the body for it's optimal functionality. While alcohol is normally present during theses occasions, one would be wise to drink in moderation due to the fact that many holiday drinks are loaded with sugar. It's also good to mention: Try to avoid artificial sweeteners if at all possible. Use sugar or honey instead.

So, you can enjoy yourself over the holiday season by doing these simple yet very productive weight loss diet suggestions and at the same time not having to stringently count calories. Recently, I've been reading where some still have the notion that weight loss supplements are really not needed if one cooks most if not all their meals at home... give me a break.

If it were that simple, the average person would already be in in perfect shape, excluding medical conditions that may be genetically inherited or from birth. Let's face it... although I am a firm advocate to having meals at home with our families, we cannot ignore the fact that our foods are full of preservatives and chemicals. And yes, I know you can buy organic foods which I highly recommend. But they do not fit into everyone's food budget.

And don't forget that in some cases fat buildup is harder to dissolve and break down in certain parts of our bodies. That's when I feel it becomes imperative to add weight loss supplements as a good compliment to eating smaller portions, exercising and drinking more water. Not to mention that people are unbelievably busy and lead stressful, time-consuming lives. This alone keeps many families from cooking and eating at home. Diet and weight loss products such as themogenic herbal supplements which have proven to help burn stubborn fat deposits would be an ideal addition to one's constitution.

The last piece of advice that I can offer is always check with your medical doctor especially if you have an existing medical condition before starting a new weight loss diet or regimen. The good news however is that natural weight loss supplements such as thermogenic diet aids can help you achieve your weight loss goals much more easily and safely than many of the prescription based diet aids on the market. We will discuss that another time. Here's to your good health in the coming year.

If you are serious about losing weight safely and easily, then check out the informative information at Your Weight Loss Club blog. You can find more details on thermogenic weight loss and it has for thousands of people. http://yourweightlossclub.com

Weight Loss Surgery: Benefits and Risks

You may be considering weight loss surgery if you are overweight or obese. For many people, surgical weight reduction is one of the only viable ways to lose a significant amount of weight and enjoy better health. However, it's important to realize that this is a very serious undertaking. You should definitely spend time researching the topic and, if possible, talking with people who have already had a weight reduction procedure performed. Understanding the benefits and risks involved with weight loss surgery is absolutely vital to making an informed decision. To help you get started, here is a brief guide...

Benefits:

* Fast Weight Loss: Obviously this is the biggest benefit of weight loss surgery. Immediately following the surgery most people begin to lose weight quickly. This rapid weight loss usually continues for at least a year and a half, leading to a very significant reduction in body weight. It's important to note however that many people begin to regain weight within 2 years, especially if they have not made any healthy lifestyle/diet changes!

* Improvement of Obesity-Related Health Conditions: For many people, the improvement in their overall health, following weight loss surgery, is just as important as the weight loss itself. And for good reason: people who have suffered from debilitating obesity-related conditions (such as diabetes) for years often experience tremendous improvements within a short period of time.

Risk and Side-Effects:

* Death: A small percentage of weight loss surgery patients die during the operation or from complications in the days and weeks following the surgery.

* Post-surgery complications: Some patients must have follow-up procedures to correct complications, which can include infections and hernias.

* Nutritional deficiencies: Some types of weight loss surgeries reduce the body's ability to absorb important vitamins and minerals. Many patients must take diet supplements on a daily basis or risk developing anemia, osteoporosis, metabolic bone disease, etc.

* Gallstones: More than a third of gastric surgery patients develop gallstones due to the rapid weight loss that occurs in the months following a weight reduction procedure.

* Side-effects: Some of the most common side-effects experienced by weight loss surgery patients include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, bloating, excessive sweating, increased gas, and dizziness.

As you can see, weight loss surgery carries some huge benefits along with some very significant risks. If you are severely obese, it is definitely an option for reducing your body weight and improving - or even eliminating - many of your obesity-related health conditions. Just understand the risk and be prepared to make some relatively extensive lifestyle changes after the procedure. If you are not severely obese you should definitely consider diet and exercise options before you think about weight loss surgery.
